Asan Medical Center (AMC), South Korea’s highest-volume cancer hospital, has announced a groundbreaking initiative to establish the nation’s largest heavy ion therapy facility, with operations planned to begin in 2031. The planned facility, encompassing over 40,000 square meters on AMC’s Pungnap-dong campus in Seoul, will feature two rotating gantry systems and a fixed beam system. China has also made significant strides, with centers in Lanzhou and Shanghai.
