Cedars-Sinai is a Los Angeles headquartered healthcare organization serving over 1 million patients a year in over 40 locations. The academic non-profit is ranked among the top hospitals in the United States, and is a national leader across a number of specialties. It was most recently ranked in the US News Best Hospitals report as #2 for Gastroenterology and GI Surgery, and #3 for Cardiology and Heart Surgery, Orthopaedics and Pulmonology & Lung Surgery.

In the last twelve months, Cedars-Sinai has leapt onto the international stage by entering into two significant international collaborations in China and Qatar.

Cedars-Sinai and Taikang Group

During the last year, Cedars-Sinai has entered into a long term collaboration with Taikang Healthcare, sharing clinical and healthcare operations experience in the development of Taikang Shenzhen Qianhai International Hospital, an upcoming fifth generation smart hospital in China.

Set over 37,600 square metres, the Taikang Shenzhen Qianhai hospital will have 1,160 beds and is expected to start operations in 2024. The hospital will cooperate with a number of partners to create three service specialisations – women and children’s medicine, geriatrics, and cancer prevention and treatment.

In this partnership, Cedars-Sinai will support the future hospital in meeting international quality standards.

Our collaborations with Taikang Healthcare Group and the Shenzhen government, and Power International Holding, will lead to the development of world-class hospitals that boost the private healthcare sectors and benefit patients in China and Qatar.

Cedars Sinai partners with Elegancia Healthcare to develop The View Hospital in Qatar

Cedars Sinai has entered into an agreement with Elegancia Healthcare, a subsidiary of Qatar based conglomerate Power International Holding (PIH), to develop a 250 bed, world-class general hospital in the vicinity of Al Qutaifiya in Qatar.

Overlooking the Doha skyline and a picturesque sea view, The View Hospital will have plenty of capacity to accommodate patients seeking high quality medical and surgical treatments.

Accommodation facilities at the View hospital will include 3 presidential suites, 3 royal suites, 6 ambassador suites, 62 VIP suites, 105 private en-suite patient rooms, 242 beds, 6 labor, delivery and recovery rooms and more.

Cedars Sinai will provide visiting doctors to The View Hospital, thus bringing world-class healthcare services to the State of Qatar. The hospital is set to define the future of healthcare delivery in the State of Qatar, as the Ministry of Public Health looks to expand the role of the private sector in years to come.

The group is the third major US healthcare organisation to enter into hospital collaboration projects in the Gulf. Prior to Cedars Sinai, Al Fardan Medical with Northwestern Medicine (AMNM) established an ambulatory medical practice in Qatar, while the flagship tertiary healthcare partnership of the Gulf region remains the well-established Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, under Mubadala Health.

The View Hospital is scheduled to open in 2022.
