In a major push to advance the Kingdom’s healthcare infrastructure, Riyadh has launched 28 new healthcare projects across the government, private, and non-profit sectors, with a total investment exceeding SR7 billion.
The projects were announced during a high-profile ceremony attended by Prince Faisal bin Bandar, Emir of Riyadh, and promise to deliver over 3,000 new hospital beds, as well as significantly improve access to quality healthcare services throughout the Riyadh region.
New Projects in Riyadh’s Health Clusters
Spanning Riyadh’s three major health clusters, the newly launched projects include hospital expansions, specialist clinics, and health infrastructure upgrades:
First Health Cluster (SR1.8 billion investment):
King Saud Medical City: 500-bed Women’s, Maternity and Children’s Hospital (Second Medical Tower)
King Salman Hospital: 200-bed medical tower
Al-Iman Hospital: 200-bed medical tower
Al-Aflaj: 30-bed kidney building
Primary Healthcare Center Developments: Al-Hazm, Badr, Okaz, and Al-Fawaz
Al-Rabwa Healthcare Center: Nine clinics and 30 ICU beds for long-term care
Hawtah Bani Tamim Hospital: Five-bed urgent care project
Al-Qassim Charitable Complex for Hemodialysis and Dentistry: 22 dental clinics and 15 dialysis chairs
Second Health Cluster:
Tamir Hospital Expansion (30 beds) – Ibrahim Al Sultan Charitable Foundation
Rawdat Sudair Health Center – Al-Babtain Charitable Foundation
Third Health Cluster:
Diriyah General Hospital: 300 beds
Abdul Moneim Al Rashid Healthcare Center
Specialist Dental and Rehabilitation Centers (Abdul Moneim Al Rashid)
Shaqra Hospital Emergency Department development
Outpatient Clinics and Endoscopy Department at Al-Dawadmi Hospital
Thadiq Hospital: Emergency department upgrade
Umm Al-Manasher: New health center establishment
Saudi Private Healthcare Sector
Complementing the public sector expansion, eight private hospitals were launched as part of the Riyadh package:
Madida Medical Care Company: 343 beds
Riyadh Medical Hospital: 30 beds
Arteh Specialized Hospital: 20 beds
Banan Medical Hospital: 10 beds
Vision 2030
The initiative reflects the Kingdom’s ongoing commitment to the Health Sector Transformation Program under Saudi Vision 2030, fostering innovation, enhancing healthcare delivery, and promoting public-private collaboration.
Minister of Health Fahd Al-Jalajel emphasized that the integration of public, private, and non-profit stakeholders will accelerate the adoption of smart healthcare systems, digital innovation, and capacity building. These projects serve as a catalyst for attracting foreign and local investment into the Kingdom’s rapidly evolving health sector.
